Pascack Valley Medical Center Acquires State-of-the-Art da Vinci 5 Robotic Surgical System

The first gynecological surgery using the da Vinci 5 was performed at Pascack Valley Medical Center by Yitzhack Asulin, M.D., medical director of Robotic Surgery.

Westwood, NJ — Pascack Valley Medical Center is proud to announce  the acquisition of the da Vinci 5® robotic surgical system, the latest innovation in minimally  invasive surgery from Intuitive Surgical. This advanced technology enhances the hospital’s  ability to provide precision care for a wide range of procedures, including gynecological,  urological, bariatric, general surgeries, and more.

The da Vinci surgical system enables patients to undergo minimally invasive procedures with  significant benefits, including reduced blood loss, shorter hospital stays, faster recovery, and  less post-operative pain. Many procedures can be performed on an outpatient basis, allowing  patients to return to daily activities more quickly while minimizing surgical risks. “The da Vinci 5® allows us to perform complex procedures with greater accuracy and control  while minimizing trauma to surrounding tissues. Patients benefit from shorter recovery times  and fewer complications, enabling them to return to their lives more quickly,” said Yitzhack  Asulin, M.D., medical director of Robotic Surgery at Pascack Valley Medical Center. “As a center  of excellence in robotic surgery, we offer advanced gynecological procedures, including surgery  for endometriosis, fibroids, and prolapse.”

The minimally invasive capabilities of the da Vinci 5® align with Pascack Valley Medical Center’s  commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. This cutting-edge technology  reduces hospital stays and enhances patient experiences while supporting surgeons of all  experience levels with actionable insights and streamlined workflows.

“Investing in advanced technology like the da Vinci 5® underscores our dedication to bringing  world-class healthcare to the community we serve,” said Michael Bell, CEO of Pascack Valley  Medical Center. “As a community hospital, we are proud to provide access to innovations that  improve patient outcomes and support our talented care teams in delivering exceptional care  close to home.”
